In 1972 Robert Lebel, a hardworking, detail-focused body and paint man, was 23 years old. He regularly worked 60 hours a week for $4 per hour. With a new baby boy and wife at home to support, he needed all the hours he could get.
B-model Mack trucks were the rage. Power steering was unheard of. An 18 wheel truck took manual expertise and strength to drive. One day out of the blue, his boss said, “I’m tired of paying you, why don’t you just rent this building, pay me for the supplies and stock and be on your own?” Robert did- and the rest is history.
Today Coastal Truck and Auto Body enjoys a reputation of being New England’s premium, one-stop, full service truck and heavy equipment collision repair and alignment shop.
